New State Hoop Shoot Director Since State Hoop Shoot Director Warren Moyers has passed, Georgia Elks need to know that the new GEA State Hoop Shoot Director is Jeff Tobin. He is the Co-Chair of the Atlanta-Northlake Elks Lodge #78 Hoop Shoot Committee. Jeff has worked Hoop Shoot since he was a kid. His father John "Jack" Tobin PER at Decatur-Stone Mountain Elks Lodge #1602, would volunteer his entire family to work Hoop Shoot. Jeff has many years of experience working Local, District and State events, but he has never been in charge until this year. With his background in coaching, his life-long interest in Hoop Shoot, and Warren's list of "seasoned" Hoop Shoot workers, Jeff is looking forward to a great year! The Committee will publish dates of local and district contests when these are set by the Lodges and the District Chairmen. Please look for these dates on our gaelks.org website in the coming months. The 2019 Elks Hoop Shoot National Finals are scheduled for April 27, 2019 in Chicago IL , Regional Contests will be held in March 2019, and State Contests in February 2019. All local and District contests need to be completed by January 2019. Let’s get busy and send some of our fine young Georgia athletes to the National finals! Please contact Jeff Tobin with any Hoop Shoot questions. ENF Benefits From Shopping On Amazon Shop on Amazon.com and the Elks National Foundation will receive .05% of all you spend. No upcharge. Abe Wilkinson, CEO New Top Membership Proposers Program The Grand Lodge just added Top Proposers to the new GL Membership page. Check it out. We want people motivated to propose/reinstate members. Now is the time to work even harder with your Exalted Rulers on recruitment initiatives. Please refer to the presentations in New Orleans to help boost new Members and increase reinstatements. Working reinstatements is an easy and effective way for Lodge Secretaries to help drive membership. Getting them to do it is the challenge.
The Grand Lodge updated the Membership Toolkit Home Page to include our Top 25 proposers:
We've also added the same list to our Members Only Home Page, in the right sidebar:

ALMS Committee - Stanley Santee, Jim Boyd, Ron Anderson, Dannie Anderson, Jane Santee, and PSP Vance Rhodes as Advisor. Thirty-One Gifts Fundraiser For Aidmore Bethany Jackson, PER of the Cartersville Elks Lodge, has offered an interesting and unique way to help stretch the resources for the residents at Elks Aidmore. Bethany is a consultant for Thirty-One Gifts. Many of you are already familiar with the web-based business, or probably know someone who is. Bethany has offered to help us in two ways. She has opened up a "party" on her website for Elks Aidmore Fundraiser. The Aidmore girls will be creating a Wish List valued at under $100. One way to help might be sponsoring a Wish List for one of the residents. Secondly, you have the option of just ordering directly from Bethany by going to her website , clicking on "shop" and then going to the Elks Aidmore Fundraiser. Of these direct orders, Bethany will donate 20% of the sales back to Aidmore. If anyone is interested in hosting their own party, Bethany will donate 10% of their sales as well! Once we receive $100 in donations, we will use the money to sponsor a Wish List for one of the residents. For additional information, or to participate, please contact Bethany directly at 770-547-5905 or email Bethany at mrsbjackson@gmail.com. Photos Go to Activities to find the link to the Photo Gallery. We still have more photos to post and will get them up soon. If you have photos of various Elk events around the state please email them to Webmaster. Please include a description of the event.
